Clutch Built for the Tough Stuff
Your factory clutch is designed for general driving — not for towing a caravan through Karijini or crawling over coastal dunes with a canopy full of gear. A heavy duty clutch upgrade improves torque handling, heat resistance, and clutch plate durability, reducing slippage and giving you more confidence in your 4WD’s performance.
At Oceans, we only install high-quality clutch kits designed for Australian off-road and towing conditions. Whether it’s an organic, ceramic, or performance hybrid setup, we match the clutch to your vehicle’s purpose — not just the part number.
The Process
Our clutch upgrade process is carried out with precision and transparency. Here’s how we get it done:

Inspection & Clutch Condition Check
We assess your current clutch system, including pedal feel, engagement point, and signs of slippage, noise or wear, to confirm if an upgrade is the right move.

Clutch Kit Recommendation
We’ll recommend a clutch kit based on your vehicle’s weight, usage, and performance goals. From heavy-duty organic for daily towing to ceramic button clutches for more aggressive setups, we help you choose smart.

Transmission Removal & Flywheel Inspection
We remove the gearbox to access the clutch and inspect the flywheel for heat spots, cracks or damage. Machining, resurfacing, or replacement may be advised depending on condition.

Install New Clutch Components
We install the new clutch pressure plate, friction disc, release bearing and spigot bush — all aligned, torqued, and fitted to spec.

Reassemble & Adjust
We refit the transmission, adjust the clutch pedal free play and test the engagement for smooth operation.

Final Test Drive & Handover
We road test your vehicle to ensure strong, clean engagement under load, and no abnormal noise or chatter. You’ll get a summary of what’s been fitted and how to bed it in properly.
Available Modifications & Options
We offer a range of clutch upgrade options to suit all styles of 4WD driving:

If you’re not sure what setup is right for you — we’ll help you choose based on how you actually use your 4WD.
